DOROTHY DAY HOSPITALITY HOUSE
With spring finally here, the five-month long ‘Shelter From the Cold’ program at the Dorothy Day Hospitality House in downtown Danbury has ended, and our four volunteer teams as well as the on-call helpers can rest from their labors. We should be very proud of all those who took time out of their busy lives to cook for, serve, and clean up after people much less fortunate than themselves. These volunteers displayed great compassion and commitment, as even on those bitterly cold or snow-filled Friday evenings, they still made it to the soup kitchen, and opened its doors to welcome the people lined up outside. Well done, everyone!
APRIL MISSION TRIP
As mentioned in last month’s Newsletter, CTK is participating in a one-day mission effort that is coordinated by the Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity. It will take place on Friday, April 21st in Hartford. There is space available for one more volunteer to participate, so if you are curious about what we’ll be doing that day, please contact Steve Odams
Our Benevolent Giving in April is to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut. If you would like to make an additional donation please place it in an envelope appropriately marked and with your envelope number and put it in the offering plate. Thank You!
FILL THE ARK !
Thank you to everyone who donated to our Lenten giving project: “Fill the Ark”, as we fundraised to provide livestock to needy families worldwide. If you would still like to give (or haven’t returned your ark), please contact the church office.
