Missions 2023Current Projects Faith Food Pantry, Newtown items St. Pauly Textiles, clothing collection Shop & Share: Faith Food Pantry Help fill the grocery cart in the church foyer with items for FAITH Food Pantry, a non-profit serving Newtown residents in need. Next time you shop, consider picking up an item or two to donate - a most-needed items list can be found on their website. (Please check expiration dates before donating.) Clothing Collection: St. Pauly Textiles In partnership with St. Pauly Textiles, a curbside clothing drop-off shed is available in the church parking lot. Used clothing and shoes, clean and in good condition, are requested. This year-round project helps get useable clothing to people in need of it, helps reduce textile waste in landfills, and supports CTK. As a host site, CTK receives a small fee that goes to the church budget. But most importantly, CTK may distribute any items from the shed locally - for example, shed items supplemented our Jericho Project coat/hat drive.) For more information about St. Pauly and acceptable items, click here. For details on any of these projects, please check the Missions calendar, or contact the church office. Thank you! Christ through us![]() It's our joy to share Christ's love, serving our town, our region, & our world. Prayer
Central in our worship services and in our lives, we pray regularly for our church, our families and loved ones, neighbors, and all people connected to us through Missions. All members of Christ the King are encouraged to sign up for our email list for weekly and special prayer needs. We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 Benevolent Giving Each month we feature a nonprofit organization chosen by the church elders to receive a donation. A portion of our yearly church budget is earmarked then divided evenly among the recipient groups. We encourage our members to get to know these groups and consider adding to this financial contribution or by direct support. For the schedule, with links to featured groups, please visit our Benevolent Giving page. Christian Education Christian Education at Christ the King engages adults and children with the Gospel during Adult Bible Study, Confirmation, and Children's Sunday School classes. We invite the Holy Spirit to guide our spiritual growth and deepen our understanding of God's love and grace. As a church community, and as individuals, we study Scripture, using the Lutheran catechisms as a roadmap. Christian Education is an important mission, one that helps strengthen faith and prepares us to joyfully share the Good News of Christ. but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you. 1 Peter 3:15 |

Affiliated with LCC's K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry, Maggie served in Christ the King's Newtown Comfort outreach. Now happily retired, we fondly remember Maggie & the lessons the Lord taught us through her. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:9-10
