Heifer Project/Fill the Ark Lenten collection Faith Food Pantry, Newtown items St. Pauly Textiles, clothing collection Shop & Share: Faith Food Pantry Help fill the grocery cart in the church foyer with items for FAITH Food Pantry, a non-profit serving Newtown residents in need. Next time you shop, consider picking up an item or two to donate - a most-needed items list can be found on their website. (Please check expiration dates before donating.) Clothing Collection: St. Pauly Textiles In partnership with St. Pauly Textiles, a curbside clothing drop-off shed is available in the church parking lot. Used clothing and shoes, clean and in good condition, are requested. This year-round project helps get useable clothing to people in need of it, helps reduce textile waste in landfills, and supports CTK. As a host site, CTK receives a small fee that goes to the church budget. But most importantly, CTK may distribute any items from the shed locally - for example, shed items supplemented our Jericho Project coat/hat drive.) For more information about St. Pauly and acceptable items, click here. For details on any of these projects, please check the Missions calendar, or contact the church office. Thank you! And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:9-10

It's our joy to share Christ's love through compassion projects and teaching.
In our town, our region, and in our world, we join together to help meet needs and spread the Good News of the Gospel through a variety of projects that enables all ages to get involved. For questions or to confirm project dates or details, contact the church office. Prayer
Central in our worship services and in our lives, we pray regularly for our church, our loved ones, our neighbors, and all people connected to us through Missions. Christ the King members are encouraged to sign up for our weekly email list of prayer needs. We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 Benevolent Giving A portion of our yearly church budget is earmarked then divided evenly among recipient organizations chosen by the church elders. Our members are encouraged to join us in prayer and support of these organizations. To add to the church contribution, simply include a separate check in the offering. The giving schedule, with links to the non-profits selected, is on our Benevolent Giving page. Christian Education Christian Education is an important mission, one that helps strengthen faith and prepares us to joyfully share the Good News of Christ. As a church community, and as individuals, we study Scripture, using the Lutheran catechisms as a roadmap, and invite the Holy Spirit to guide our spiritual growth and deepen our understanding of God's love and grace. We regularly engage adults and children with the Gospel through Adult Bible Study, Confirmation instruction, and Children's Sunday School classes. |
