DOROTHY DAY HOSPITALITY HOUSE
Beginning November 4th, CTK will be hosting the Friday evening shift for the Dorothy Day Hospitality House at the new evening location on William Street in downtown Danbury. Welcoming homeless people, this program provides soup, hot drinks, and other light food fare, in addition to allowing the guests a place to get in from the cold for a few hours. Right now we have four teams of volunteers, plus several reservists, all of whom are eager to serve. Each team will host a Friday evening shift once every four weeks, with the program lasting until the beginning of April. This is a great opportunity to respond to the encouraging words found in Matthew 25:40, where Jesus said “Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” If you think you might like to participate, or are curious about this rewarding program, please contact Steve Odams.

FILL THE ARK !
Our annual Lenten fundraiser is underway, as we participate in Heifer International’s “Fill the Ark” program, where we donate money to purchase livestock for impoverished people in different parts of the world. Last year was a great success, as we raised enough money to purchase 2 water buffaloes, 2 goats, 7 flocks of chicks, 3 flocks of ducks, and 3 flocks of geese. Let’s try to match that impressive accomplishment this year. The paper ark banks and accompanying calendars can be found in the Narthex, and we’ll be filling them with loose change and paper money over the next few weeks, before collecting them on Palm Sunday. So please help us Fill the Ark!
