Letter to the Congregation from Council President, Rob Cicarelli

Salt?
Nelson Mandela once said "Let there be work, bread, water and salt for all."
Why salt? Is it really that important? The short answer is yes. While salt accounts for less than 2% of the human body, it is absolutely essential for proper functioning of its biological systems. In essence, salt is fundamental to our survival.
But it’s more than that. Salt adds flavor to life. You'd be hard-pressed to bake a decent cake or prepare a gourmet meal without it.
In both ways, church is a lot like salt. It keeps us grounded, keeps us going and supports our 'survival' in modern society. And it adds flavor in the rewards of attendance, learning and shared fellowship.
So as we all need to add a little salt to our food, we need to add a little church to our lives. Go ahead. Sprinkle it on, and enjoy the rewards.
Yours in Christ, Rob Cicarelli
Council President
